What A Scene!

As I am preparing the lyrics for a new song, I’m reading Revelation 19. What a scene it is, from verse 11 forward! Now some will say that this is only figurative, and isn’t to be understood as a real event to take place in the real world. I don’t agree with that, but for the sake of discussion, let’s assume that.
Okay, but it does represent a moment in time, and even Satan knows that. He knows his time is short, and he is wild to make this world his own.
So, as long as we, who follow Jesus and are called on to “Go and make disciples of all peoples,” are slack; seeking to live a “good life,” surrounding ourselves only with like-minded people, thinking it’s God’s will that we enjoy prosperity in this life, then the number of those who are willing to believe Satan’s Lie will increase, as a percentage of the population. And the scene will be set all the sooner for Revelation 19:11-21 to be fulfilled — in reality, and not just spiritually.

I will be clear! We are not called upon to join a denomination. We are not called upon to be Conservative or Liberal. We are not called upon to live separated from the world — that God so loved that He gave His only begotten Son, not to condemn, but to save! Jesus didn’t tell His disciples to cloister themselves away, and leave the world to go to Hell!
And if you think that’s what Christianity is, you haven’t read the book of Acts. As far as we know, only John, the son of Zebedee was not killed over his testimony for Messiah Jesus. All the others were murdered for that! What makes any Christian today think they’re so much better, or more loved by God, or more entitled to safety, prosperity and happiness, than these who gave their lives?
That is not Christianity. That is a lie out of the pit of Hell!
It works for so many because it appeals to our natural lusts and pride. If there were no God, we would invent one, but it wouldn’t be a good one. We want a God who forgives everything, judges nothing, and provides the best of the things of this world — to those who pay their tithe regularly. But we are simply not called to live in the lap of luxury!
What we are called upon to do is, from the perspective of having been justified, in the process of being sanctified, looking forward to salvation, we go, making disciples of all peoples, baptizing them in the authority and will of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey every commandment Jesus gave us. And that includes the commandments to love the Lord with all we are and have, love other people at least as much as we love ourselves, and then to Go!
