Darkness Flees

Darkness is not a substantial thing. As such, it is not the equal opposite of light. That is to say, it is opposite, but not equal. Light is substantial, therefore darkness is the absence of light.

Look up into the sky at night. See all those lights? Planets, stars, galaxies, nebulae, and many things you can’t see, are all separated by an immense blackness.
